Summit Volunteer Opportunities
There are many opportunities to volunteer at Summit both in the classroom and outside. Parents volunteer to read to students, help supervise during field trips, make materials for students to use in the classrooms and help with fundraising. They share skills and experience via classroom presentations, they work in the library, and they provide extra hands for teachers during special projects. Our SMPA volunteers organize outings and events for families, provide opportunities for parent education events, and help facilitate communication (the role of our room parents). Volunteers enrich the entire Summit Community and in return enrich their own lives, whether they work with students, teachers, adminstration or other parents. Everyone benefits from volunteering. If you are looking for an opportunity to help out, here are three to consider.
Library volunteers are needed to help scan and reshelf returned books. This can be done at any time during the school day and even small amounts of time make a huge difference. Please contact Siobhan Mahaney for details.
