Katie (she/her) discovered Montessori in 2004 after receiving her Masters in Elementary Education. Being completely amazed by the Montessori method her first year, she pursued her AMS Elementary II (9-12) training and certification through CMTE/NY and worked for 9 additional years as an Upper Elementary teacher.
In 2015, Katie completed her AMS Elementary I (6-9) certification at METTC in Lexington, MA. From 2015-2019, she helped start a Wildflower School in Cambridge, MA; worked as a Lower Elementary teacher at Lexington Montessori School; and assisted across programs at Cambridge Montessori School before becoming the Interim Director of Toddler and Primary Programs the fall of 2019, and later, the Director of Elementary and Middle School Programs.
Katie moved into her role as Elementary Coordinator during the fall of 2021, and is excited to be a part of the Summit Montessori community. Originally from Chicago, she lives in Arlington with her husband and two children.
