It is nothing short of wonderful to have children back in the building and on school grounds. Much careful planning has gone into thinking through every detail of school life in order to bring the students back onto campus safely and with all due precautions in place. Our central goal in doing so has been and continues to be: to create a safe, relatively normal learning and growing space for our students as the world deals with the profound impact of the current pandemic. Our goal is to create an oasis of joy for our students. Planning for our return to campus has been in the works since March when we, along with the state, shut down in response to Covid-19. Over the summer months, the Health & Safety Committee met, drafted, revised, studied, compiled, and worked tirelessly to create a nimble and robust plan to open our campus and mitigate risk for children, faculty, and staff in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic. We are grateful for the work of these individuals and happy to share that the plans we put on paper are playing out in real time. Children have taken to mask wearing with ease, parents have supported our protocols, and teachers have worked hard to adapt their classrooms without losing the excellence in Montessori in which we pride ourselves.
