Summit History

In 1996, a group of enthusiastic parents decided that the MetroWest area of Boston would benefit from a new Montessori-based school, one that offered attention to the individual child, an outstanding faculty, and a creative yet academically rigorous environment. Summit Montessori School was thus born, starting with 48 students.

Summit has gradually grown and now, in its eleventh academic year, educates up to 100 students in preschool through Grade Six. Our students come from many towns in MetroWest such as Framingham, Natick, Sudbury, Southborough and Holliston. Situated in a beautiful neighborhood and centrally located in Framingham, the school resides in an historic, Victorian building that was converted for educational purposes when Summit was founded.

In its twelve-year history, Summit graduates have continued their secondary education at local public schools as well as many private independent schools. These private schools include Buckingham, Browne & Nichols, Concord Academy, Middlesex, The Rivers School, Winsor School and Worcester Academy. Our students have also gone on to attend many prestigious undergraduate institutions, including Brown University, Colgate, Hamilton College, Lafayette College, Middlebury College, Princeton University, Syracuse University and Tufts University.
