Admission Process

Explore Summit.

We invite you to take a look at our website, learn about how our school engages each student as an individual, and read about the benefits of Montessori education. Most of all, we invite you to see the magic at Summit in person. If you have questions, please give us a call or submit an Inquiry Form.

Schedule a tour and classroom observation.

When you come for a tour of our school, you will also have an opportunity to observe in a classroom. Please contact us to schedule a school tour and classroom observation. During the school year, tours are scheduled at 9:00 a.m. or 9:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. You can also tour during the summer months, although classes are not in session. Summer tours are scheduled between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Complete an application.

Please submit your completed application to Summit with a non-refundable application fee of $50. This can be done right from the website.
The Director of Admissions will call to schedule a classroom visit for your child once the application is received.

If your child is currently enrolled at another school, we also request that you send the AISNE teacher evaluation and Records Release form to your child’s school by this date. These forms are available for download while you are completing the online application. Once the form is completed, the current school will return the AISNE form directly to Summit.

If you are interested in requesting financial assistance, you will need to submit a Financial Aid application with your school application. Financial aid information can be found on our website.

Visit the school with your child.

We invite both parents and children to visit the school as part of the application process. While children will have a chance to spend time in a classroom, parents will participate in a interview with the Admissions Director.

Applicants for the Beginners Program (students who will be 21 months to 3 years of age on September 1) visit with their parent or guardian for approximately 45 minutes. (The parent interview will be scheduled for a different time.)

Applicants for Children’s House (students who will be 3-6 years of age on September 1) visit a classroom for 20-30 minutes.  Applicants to the Children's House who are under three at the time of their visit may have their parent stay in the classroom while they work with a teacher.  Their parent interview will be conducted by phone.  Older applicants will visit alone while the parent interview is held.  Kindergarten visits will be for one hour.

Applicants for the Lower and Upper Elementary programs (students entering grades 1-6 on September 1) will visit from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
