admission process
Our admission process consists of several steps designed to familiarize children and their parents with Summit Montessori School.
An initial inquiry from a prospective family can be made by phone call, e-mail using the link below, or simply by visiting our school. We then schedule an Admissions Visiting Day or private visit for parents or guardians during which they will have a chance to visit classes and spend some time with the Director of Advancement and parents, as well as the Head of School. This is a great time to learn more about Montessori education and Summit's unique approach to it.
A visit is then arranged for your child. Applicants to the Children's House (ages 3 and 4 years and kindergarten) typically spend an hour in the classroom with the teachers, while prospective Elementary students (first through sixth grades) spend more extended periods of time within a two week period. All candidates will meet the Head of School. Additional visits are welcome and can be arranged with the Advancement Office.
At the time of the childs first visit, the completed application must be submitted with a $50.00 non-refundable fee. Summit Montessori considers each prospective student carefully, evaluating all aspects of school history as well as personality and fit with the Summit environment. Notification of all decisions will be mailed by March 12. When necessary, there may be a waiting list for spaces as they become available.
Upon acceptance to the school, a non-refundable deposit of $2,000 for Elementary and full-day programs or $1,500 for half-day programs is required and will be applied to tuition.

Please fill in the form following these steps:
1 - Click on the link to open the form.
2 - Using your keyboard, fill in all of the highlighted fields on the form.
3 - Once you are done, choose File > Save A Copy, and save the copy to your computer.
(If you want to go back in and change information, you can do so and then re-save it.)
4 - Once the form is completed and saved, email the form to the school at
smahaney@summitmontessori.org as an attachment.
