Summit Montessori School is home to 100 students
ages 3 to 12. Three developmental planes are at the center of the
Montessori education:
- The Children’s House: Home to children
ages three through six (equivalent to preschool and kindergarten),
the Summit Children’s House includes three classrooms.
- The Lower Elementary School (equivalent to
grades 1 through 3: Children ages 6 through 9 learn in one classroom.
- The Upper Elementary School (equivalent to
grades 4 through 6): Children ages nine through 12 learn in one
classroom at Summit.
The intimate atmosphere of this small school provides
the children with a personalized education and a celebration of
their individuality.
The Summit environment:
- Nourishes children’s natural curiosity
- Supports their continuing steps on the path
to discovery
- Celebrates their accomplishments, large and
small
- Provides a strong foundation for a lifelong
love of learning
- Instills in students a deep confidence in themselves
and their abilities—a confidence that serves them well as
they move on into the wider world.
Summit Montessori School graduates are accomplished,
poised, well-rounded human beings. They are self-directed and self-motivated
and leave Summit ready to tackle the rigors of the most challenging
secondary education.
Our intimate environment, our emphasis on academic
rigor, and our focus on each student’s individual strengths
all help produce young people with a solid sense of self, who step
out and face their future with a strong mind and an open heart.
